Slovakia
Gypsies for Christ’s links with the Full
Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship led the organisation to Slovakia in 1997 and
when the English missionaries relocated GFC picked up the gauntlet. In May 2000
an apartment was acquired in Partizanske as a base for the Eastern European work
and a great effort was made to work alongside the Slovak and Gypsy people.
Evangelistic work was done and clothes, shoes, food and medicines were
distributed. Various projects were initiated – Dorcas Handicrafts for the
women, English language classes, and the Sharon Project to provide gardening
work for the unemployed – which met with some success and the English classes in
a local school proved popular with the students.
In the summer of 2008 it became very clear
to GFC that the work in Slovakia was over.
“There is a time for everything, a season
for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.”
(Ecclesiastes 3:1,2)
The apartment was sold and GFC now
continues to operate from its London office at
32 Ashford Road, London E18 1JZ
