About Gypsies for Christ

Gypsies For Christ and the Romani Gospel Waggon came together in November 1993.

GFC was founded in 1975 and the RGW at the beginning of 1990 as a personal response to the Decade of Evangelism.

The chief aim of the organisation is the evangelisation of Gypsies and the promotion of fellowship and co-operation among those engaged in the proclamation of the full gospel to the Romani people.

The organisation is funded by gifts and donations and we value greatly the generosity and prayers of all our supporters.

GFC Newsletters go out at Christmas and Easter to keep our supporters informed of all our activities and are also given out at the meetings we take in churches and fellowship groups in the UK and Eastern Europe. We are very grateful to our home church, The Woodford Christian Life Church, London E18, which sponsors the GFC Newsletters and supports the work in prayer and by giving.

GFC holds it Annual General Meeting on the 1st Saturday in November and our supporters are invited to join us on these occasions.

Sonnie often addresses The Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International dinners and breakfasts where valuable support in prayer and donations for the work are received.

Rosemary speaks about the work of GFC at women's groups and writes articles for Christian periodicals.

We also visit Gypsies in Prison and encourage them by writing to them. The office in London deals with all the correspondence and provides information when requested. We work constantly to promote unity in the body of Christ and co-operation wherever we go. We believe that this is the way forward for mission today. Our home is always open and we provide hospitality, accomodation and encouragement to Gypsies and Gorgios who visit us.

Finally, we praise God for the way the work has developed and for all that has been accomplished. We praise Him, too, for His loving care, protection and provision on all our journeys at home and abroad and we look to Him to guide the work of GFC in the future.

Sonnie and Rosemary’s Prayer Update May 2005

We will be travelling to Partizanske, Slovakia at the end of May and once again we would like to thank you for supporting the work of GFC in prayer during the last few months especially while Rosemary was recuperating after the operation on her eye. I now have my new glasses and am using the computer again. Praise the Lord!

Good News & Items for Praise

We attended the Gypsy Council AGM and their first conference entitled “The Way Ahead : Dead End, By-Pass, or Clearway?” in Blackpool 22nd – 24th April 2005. It was an informative time and the weather was excellent. We even found time to walk on the beach and came home feeling refreshed by the sea air and change of scene.

Later this month we will join our church for a weekend at Herne Bay 20th – 22nd May and we thank God for this provision before we go away.
We praise the Lord for all the gifts that GFC has received which have made this summer’s missionary journey possible. Thank you for your generosity.
Prayer Requests

Please pray for safety on the roads and trouble free journeys while we are away; for our health; and for many opportunities to share the Good News of Jesus with all the people we meet.

Sonnie will be opening the carpentry workshop this summer so please pray that it will go smoothly and give opportunities to those who come to learn. Employment is difficult in Slovakia at the moment.

Rosemary will be helping a Christian friend, Denis, to start English lessons this summer for people from the local church so please pray for all the students.

Please pray for Pastor Peter and the church in Partizanske; and for the Gypsy people in the town that they may be open to the gospel.

Special Requests

As Gypsies have been subject to some very bad press during the time leading up to the elections, please pray for justice and an end to stereotyping.

As we do not need the Toyota people carrier we would like to sell it. Please pray for a buyer (asap) so that GFC may recover some of the money that has been spent on the vehicle.

A Very Big Thank You!
To Kay and Margaret who distribute these prayer updates; to the WCLC that enables us send them out; to our Cell Group for their encouragement and help; to the Ladies Prayer Focus and the Women’s World Day of Prayer Groups; and to all the Trustees of GFC who stand with us and share the vision of reaching Gypsies everywhere for Christ.
Praise the Lord, He fills my life with good things!
